Autumn Reflections

As I notice the change in daylight and how quickly night falls, I pray my own Christ-light can become a beacon for others. May I always recognize His presence in others as well.

October days can bring Indian Summer weather while other times setting the thermostat to Heat is the right call. Even as outdoor temperatures fluctuate, may I not blow hot and cold in my relationships, especially with my Creator.

While I love the sweater and sweatshirt weather that signals a change in wardrobe, may I never forget to daily clothe myself with the garment of Christ.

As the growing season slows, may I change my own pace, taking time to slow down, allowing more time for prayer and good works.

Just as the trees drop their leaves, may I learn to accept the beauty in letting things go; to realize there is healing in shedding my hurts, worries, disappointments, grudges, unrealistic expectations, past mistakes, old habits.

As I experience this change in seasons, may I remember to ask for His grace daily and welcome the changes this request will make in my life.

As beautiful as this world can be and how glorious the colors are, I find myself never totally satisfied.

My prayer this season: Fill me, Lord, with as much of you, of your Son and Holy Spirit as possible until the day I am fully satisfied worshiping in your presence.
