Summer & Sacred Heart
Get ready for Faith Friday - Summer Edition!
Reflecting on some feel-good moments of summer reminds us that God is always working and generous with His love. Here are 12 photos that depict summer goodness:
In the Clouds - Following a recent Mass in the Philippines, Catholic devotees were stunned when an apparition of Jesus appeared in the clouds. It’s pretty amazing what the sky can produce for our eyes to enjoy.
Fireworks - Your dog may not be a fan of the fireworks around the 4th of July, but next Friday we will ooh-and-ahh over the night-sky illuminations, all for the remembrance of our country’s independence. Give thanks in between the bangs!
Flowers - Those zinnias are outstanding, aren’t they? Aesthetically, flowers are a glorious sight and help make our world more beautiful. Scientifically, flowers are a necessary feature of nature - feeding many and ensuring future plant production. Socially, flowers are a kind gesture to another, and to me, growing them is a hobby.
Ice Cream - enough said
Hugs - a.k.a. mood-boosters
Bubble Gum - There is a fun-loving side to bubble-blowing. Let it take over you!
Cozy Coupe - The classic Little Tikes vehicle, first released in 1979, comes complete with horn, gas cap, cup holders (!) and storage in the back for sidewalk chalk, rocks, and other necessities along the way. Just look at the little feet underneath powering it!
Sunrise/Sunset - Are you more of a sunrise or sunset person?
Prayer - I’ve never had someone be offended when I ask them what prayers I can offer for them. It’s a powerful gesture for others, it’s a way to show love for one another, it’s a conduit to Jesus, and it’s so comforting to lean on.
Reading - What’s on your summer reading list? I add more books to my TBR list than I take off, and I’m at peace with that.
Smiles - I don’t even know all the details behind this photo of my daughter with the microphone, but her smile makes me smile. Your smile can do the same for others.
Sacred Heart of Jesus - Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We are reminded that Jesus will leave the 99 to rescue the 1 lost sheep. Do you need to hear those words today? Maybe this is one of the best reminders of summer that we have. Let’s find peace and hope that each one of us holds inestimable value in God’s eyes as we strive to grow closer to Jesus’ heart this summer.
